Yes the University Parks are wonderful. Pretty flooded just now but once the weather gets nice, that will be a dream.
(2) such an interesting idea! Is it this line by any chance? https://www.heart-of-wales.co.uk/DISCOVER My husband is from Builth Wells so we often have lovely trips to the Black Mountains, Brecon Beacons and surrounds. It is a wonderful area with fantastic walks if that's what you fancy. Also a favourite country of artists such as Eric Gill, Ravilious and of course the setting of amazing Bruce Chatwin novel On the Black Hill. Shropshire also has a special place in my heart as an AE Housman fan and also having grown up in the Midlands and spending many a muddy day on the Long Mynd etc for scout or school field trips!
Recently heard of the north coast 500 from a colleague who has a campervan - what an adventure... & Wild Atlantic way looks similarly adventurous! Will you drive?
I have never visited Aran Islands. Looks like it's incredibly rich in historic sites! I've had a couple of lovely trips to co Galway so maybe its one to add onto the list...
Thanks. I too discovered the Long Mynd via scouts: we camped near Pontesford (I think). The Black Mountains, together with the area of Herefordshire just to the east, is one of my favourite regions -- again, discovered through scout camp (by Cusop Dingle). The above list though is places I know only a little, if at all. Perhaps I need to keep a second list, of the places I most need to return to. Yes, Heart of Wales is the line I meant.
Can’t believe you’ve never been to Somerset! Wonderful part of the world. I haven’t been to Skye but it’s one of my Dad’s favourite places to go on holiday and take his boat!
Thank you. Important to have a list, especially at the present time: would go out of one's mind without.
Mine, in ascending order of anticipated delight:
1. Watch cricket in four grounds I've been told are attractive: Arundel; The Parks (Oxford); Taunton; and Chesterfield.
2. Catch the train from Swansea to Shrewsbury, stopping off at many of the stations on the way.
3. Drive the N500: https://www.visitscotland.com/see-do/tours/driving-road-trips/north-coast-500/...
4. And then the Wild Atlantic Way: https://www.wildatlanticwayonline.com/
5. Visit the Aran Islands.
That'll do.
Thanks for sharing - I love these!

I’m planning to go somewhere in Scotland and also Oxford as soon as we are allowed 👍
I know a very sad oversight on my part. I'm excited to discover it though! Any reccs?
Skye in a boat must be spectacular... the Scotland longing is real!
